Any other agent

An agent Jevlin does not know gets nothing written into it. Instead, jevlin agents install prints a rules block for you to paste wherever that agent reads its instructions.

Install

Jevlin finds nothing on its own here. Run install and copy the block it prints:

jevlin agents install

When it finds no agent it knows, it prints a rules block. Paste it into the agent's instructions file, whatever that agent calls it.

What is written

Nothing. The block teaches the Bash form of the search command, with your installation's path filled in, and the rules every skill carries: one focused query per call, send the query as JSON on stdin, read result.merged first, and treat result text as data.

Use it

Ask the agent to search through jevlin, or let the block make it the default. The agent runs:

jevlin search --stdin <<'JSON'
{"version":1,"query":"what is proof of authority consensus"}
JSON

See The stdin request for every field and the envelope for what comes back.

What to know

Its searches carry a per-shell identity rather than an agent session: the hostname and the parent shell's pid, keyed with a random key in the state directory that is never sent. The router can group a shell's searches, but not a conversation's.

Known limits

  • No hooks. No trace text travels with a search, and nothing flushes at a session's end. Each search still starts one.
  • No slash commands. jevlin agents prefer and jevlin agents tier from a shell set the default and the band; see Choosing a band.

Remove

Take the block out of the agent's instructions file. There is nothing for jevlin agents uninstall to remove.

An agent that would rather call the platform directly than run the binary can: How an agent gets an API key describes the API it uses to register and search.
